Picture the scene: soft morning light filters through the blinds of your master suite, gently stirring you from a deep sleep. It’s the kind of sleep that only comes from the absolute quiet of Little Cayman. The only sounds are the rustle of palm fronds and the occasional call of a frigate bird.

You reach for your phone and find a message from your concierge: “Good morning! Breakfast will be delivered at 8 am and your dive trip to Bloody Bay Wall is booked for 9.30am. The dive boat will pick you up at the dock.” It’s the beginning of a perfect Little Cayman day.

PARADISE, MADE EFFORTLESS

Anyone who has spent a weekend or longer on Little Cayman will have been enchanted by the tiny island: the quiet sandy roads, the iguanas basking in the sun, white sand beaches empty of footprints and waters so clear you can count the scales on passing parrotfish. With no pressure to do anything beyond swing in a hammock counting the sea’s many shades of blue, it’s everything a vacation should be.

However, Little Cayman’s simplicity is also its greatest challenge. Not only do you need to pack all your clothes and dive gear, but you also need to take provisions with you. And even on vacation, you still have to cook, clean and organise.

“The thought of filling coolers with provisions to take with you, of having to prepare meals on vacation, of planning activities and arranging transport can be off-putting to those who already lead busy lives,” says the developer behind MAREA. “At MAREA, we eliminate every one of those sticking points, so that owners only need to get themselves there. Everything else is taken care of.”

With a full management and concierge service, this collection of modern luxury villas has been conceived to provide the ideal Little Cayman experience: all the advantages, and none of the inconveniences.

THE MAREA EXPERIENCE

When you land on Little Cayman’s tiny airstrip an air-conditioned car is waiting for you. Because you’re carrying no luggage and no coolers, you arrive at your villa within minutes. Your clothes are hanging in the closet, your dive gear is ready and waiting for you, and the fridge is stocked with all the groceries you pre-ordered.

Whilst the children run to the pool, you settle down on the screened terrace and contemplate what the rest of the day has in store. Will you cycle slowly out to Point of Sand for a snorkel? Or will you paddle gently over to Owen Island?

With two vehicles – an SUV and a Jeep – available for owners to use, as well as push bikes, e-bikes and kayaks, the question is not how you will get around, but which mode of transport you will choose.

For those that don’t relish rising early to make breakfast for hungry kids but also don’t want to eat out for every meal, room service is available from the neighbouring Little Cayman Beach Resort. Your concierge will arrange this, as well as any dive trips, fishing charters and restaurant reservations you may desire.

Departures are equally seamless. Simply lock up and leave. The management will take care of cleaning and, should you wish to rent your property when not in residence, personal possessions can be stored in an owners’ closet, and later unpacked and returned to their place for your next visit.

This is MAREA: vacations in Little Cayman, made effortless.
